We liked that you had a pillow menu.
Restaurant was expensive and over priced for the quality of the meal. The room was not heated adequately, the window did not shut properly and the train line ran close to the hotel so I was awoken early!
An excellent hotel, staff were exceptional and facilities were impressive.
it was very easy to find and staff were very friendly. The spa was great as we both have hectic work schedules and it made time to relax.
Really comfortable beds, good service, excellent situation
Not much character (to be expected)
The pool was great for a an early morning swim and when i was there very quiet.Had lunch sitting outside and the food was good and a reasonable price.
It's location, which gave us access to lots of different areas. A good mix of road types for meandering locally & A12 for going further afield. Easy to mix a town & country break.
Nothing was a major problem, although there were a few minor niggles.
room was comfortable, breakfast was lovely, staff were very friendly.
Good access from a major route into Colchester and well signed. Good lighting in the parking area and easy to find your way around the hotel.
the friendliness of staff and cleanliness. Food was excellent and room was big
The Deluxe room was worth the money and the breakfast is fantastic!
Public areas - eg restaurant rather cold. Poor dinner menu
After a long journey in the fog, it was lovely to have room service meal (from a well-mannered and lively steward), rest, relax and watch the rugby on tv!
The staff were really frendly. The breakfast had a nice variety and tasted very good
The manager on site on Saturday evening and Sunday morning was very pleasant, friendly, smiling and welcoming. The breakfast was very good , as always. We have stayed her 3-4 times as we have friends who live nearby.
This was the first time that we have stayed in a standard room. We stayed in a superior room before. We found the room to be fine (Room 201) but the bed was really small for 2 people. It was smaller than our standard double at home (which is 4ft6'). . Also even though you advertise on your pillows that there is a pillow menu which includes feather ones, when we asked for feather pillows we were told that you no longer do them!! So why put an advertisement tag on the pillows to say that you do? I queried this with the manager the next morning and he confirmed that the company had stopped providing feather pillows. Why? Why do you still advertise them????
